This review for A Baron for Becky says to me that, for this person at least, I achieved what I set out to do.

This is an excellently written novel, which gets better and better as one reads on. Ms. Knight mentions she has story lines for 40+ works, and that is great news!

The beginning of the story is unremittingly sensual. It is ground on which, normally, I do not care to tread, but on the strength of other, trusted reviewers I read on - and I am so glad I did. It served to elucidate the utter objectification of women who've been victimized by men, and the atmosphere of debauchery that existed in certain circles of the ton at that time. It is not a pretty reality. It's appallingly heartbreaking to read Rose/Becky's story.

But we also get a love story, beautifully and heart-wrenchingly told. Wonderful!!

What I hope is that one of the 40 or so stories percolating in Ms. Knight's head is of Aldridge, libertine that he is. We get plenty of sordid details about his inner life, and just a hint of the better man beneath the surface, and he is intriguing. There is a reason people act as they do, and that's the story I hope Jude Knight will eventually tell. Is there *someone* who will complete him? I hope so!

A surprise review from a reader called "Greebo" has put a glow to my entire month! For a M/M novella about a Nevada rancher's son and a closeted castle laird
~
"Cowboys and Kilts" has a little bit of everything. You want strong Alpha men? You got it! Sweeping landscapes? They're there! Interesting history? Check! A bit of the paranormal? Yep! A beautifully written love story between the aforementioned strong Alpha men? Oh...YES!

There is something between the men they just can't deny, and I, as the reader couldn't deny MY attraction to them. They're so different from one another, but they fit together perfectly. Their first union was so intense, I felt it on a very visceral level. It was absolutely breathtaking and a bit desperate (not to mention incredibly sexy).

Erin O'Quinn has a gift. Her men are all very masculine, so the scenes are primal...no hearts or flowers...just powerful, lust filled, hard and fast sex. However, there is a romantic feel to them.

"Cowboys and Kilts" is mysterious and exciting. It's sexy and romantic. It's a short story but just so...epic. The descriptions of the scenery are expansive and sweeping. I felt like I was on that bus tour, and it left me Googling parts of Scotland that I never knew existed. I don't want to give anything else away. I want you to buy this book. You won't be sorry. I highly recommend it.

Review for TORN, by Gilli Allan - which is currently a bargain!

TORN pulled me into the story of Jess from the very first paragraph. The book is a wonderful piece of prose from a gifted author with a unique voice. It is a romance with a twist, a slice from the life of Jessica Avery. On the one hand, TORN is about a thirty-something single mom who escapes a violently abusive relationship and the hassles of a stressful job in London, yearning for peace and stability in the country.
But on a deeper level, TORN is about the effects of abuse, the lurching starts and stops, the choices of an abused woman who in many ways is broken as she searches for a new life and a proper home for her child, stumbling along the way.

Jess’s quest is more than she bargained for, however, and she falls into the arms of one man, only to fall into the arms of another. TORN chronicles Jess’s coming of age, if you will, her growth as a person, and the novel’s scenes—those with her friends and with her child, Rory, who during the course of the narrative, has milestones of his own—include her romantic relationships with men in quite detailed and beautifully written prose. In fact, the sex scenes are masterfully written. A tightly-written novel, all the scenes, including those in the bedroom, have a purpose: they move the story along and illuminate the characters, especially Jess.
Ms. Allan has created a very complex character in Jess, totally believable, one who surprised and, at times, angered this reader, and the novel centers around her growth. And the minor characters, Danny, James, Rory, Sean have their own special voice. For those who want a compelling romance a finely written story told with rich prose, TORN by British author, Gilli Allan, is a must read.

Road to Glory
Tessa Berkley

I was looking for a sweet romance. I got that and then some. This book starts winding up the tension from page one and the pace kept it going. It's gritty, it's real and it has just enough sweetness to balance it all out. Travis is a tough bull rider, but Glory's is a great character who lets her actions speak for her. She's not running her ranch from a rocking chair on the porch! Together, they're perfect. My suggestion-if you like tough women and cowboys, read it.

Format: Kindle Edition
Teresa Reasor kept me captivated with this edge-of-your-seat romantic suspense.

We met these characters in the previous SEAL Team Heartbreakers series and their original love story was developed in Breaking Through. Reasor has amped up their relationship by throwing Tess into serious danger just weeks before their wedding in this story.

She has also introduced us to Brett's new SEAL team, and several new hunky men that we hope she decides they need their own story.

As a military wife, I love that Reasor has brought to this story the realism that military men (and women) are moved from one place/company/team to another where they must make new bonds and prove themselves worthy.

Along that same line, I liked that she made Tess question her ability to be able to withstand the trials of being a military wife. Military life is not easy, especially for a professional woman like her heroine. Reasor shows how every decision a military wife makes affects her husband's career. She also shows us that true love demands sacrifices.
Loved this review for Book 4 of the SEAL Team Heartbreaker Series Building Ties
Although Building Ties is a stand alone book, I'd suggest that you read the entire series or at least Breaking Through to understand the relationship between Tess and Brett.

Highly recommend this book and the entire SEAL Team Heartbreakers series!

My Stellar review is for PRIMAL and it;s from the BOOKED and LOADED book review blog. This reviewer GOT the story, and I loved the review.

"Reading about a women in her early 40’s with a career and a normal life was such a refreshing change of pace. The fact that she meets Adam Kessler and although things do change in Olivia’s life, there is no sacrificial lamb. You know what I mean right? That one thing that the protagonist must give up in order to be happy with the other person? Yeah…I hate that. This story was above that and beyond the trope that so many books containing alpha males have. Don’t get me wrong, Adam is 100% pure alpha but not the alphahole that so many books are now containing. Being able to read a romance where each of the characters are strong, self aware, and then end up together in the end was completely worth the walk on the wild side. Speaking of the wild side, have I mentioned how hot this books was?
Primal is melt your kindle hot. The intensity in this book was red zone, baby…..I will certainly be keeping an eye out for the next book in this series and cannot wait to see who’s story is next!"

from A Question of Honor by Mona Karel
"Since I am a huge supporter of all veterans of our country, I was eager to read this book because of what Stormhaven represented for soldiers not able to easily readjust to civilian life. The fact that it is the first in a series means I will be looking for the rest of the series so I can enjoy the stories Mona Karel tells. She makes the characters very real by showing their strengths and weaknesses. I read the book straight through because I didn't want to put it down. The romance is great and the action/adventure is exciting. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes romantic suspense, action/adventure and HEA."

LOVE WILL FIND YOU

I was offered an ARC of Love Will Find You by the author, and I finished it last night, after several lazy nights of reading to end my kids' school holidays.
It's an uncomplicated love story, with authentic characters and a grandma who almost stole the show for me.
I love my AFL footy. (Love most sports actually), so I had no reservations about the sport in this book and I'm glad to hear it's part of a series as I'm sure I'll enjoy the other two.
For me, because I do like the football so much, I could have used a bit more interaction/description with the hero, Tyson, and his game. A bit of footy rough and tumble would have been good fun. I would also have enjoyed going just a bit deeper into Katie. The book begins with her grieving after the death of her sister and Tyson finds her having a cry on the beach. Katie's job, some more about the things she enjoys in life, a greater sense of what she wants to do and become - some of those details I would have enjoyed. I found Katie just a bit hard to identify with.
This is the third of Iris Blobel's books I've read, having also read the first 2 of her 'Beginnings' series, set in Tasmania.
She has a very warm writing style and although this one is a bit 'racier' than either of the Beginnings books, the sex or language level certainly isn't over-done.
