Oh what fun! A new meme!

TO HAVE & TO HOLD will become one of the books in the Authors of Main Street boxed set, LOVE BLOOMS ON MAIN STREET. It is the third wedding vow book.

His lips touched hers. Fire ripped through him as she leaned into him and he felt her pelvis against his leg. There was no question that he was falling into hell, but it certainly felt like heaven.

The Changeling ~ my current work in progress.

As I see it Fanny, the baker’s child is no more – taken away to some Faery hill no doubt, never to be seen again, if the old stories are true. This little boy did not belong with the Benton family anyway. He’s black-haired, for one. He’d grow being different, maybe disliked or mistrusted, even despised by his father as another man’s bastard. You know how people are when they feel something isn’t quite right. The child would suffer for a situation completely out of his control. It harms no one that he be raised a Pendry.”

TAKEN BY THE TYCOON - New Release!
Normandie Alleman. http://www.amazon.com/Normandie-Alleman/e/B00BNUDVFW/
*************************************************************
On the way home from the club, her mind whirled and she tried to make sense of Stuart accosting her in the ladies’ locker room. She had never had a man approach her so brazenly, much less kiss her like that, so she had no frame of reference for such behavior. The experience was shocking, but that’s what made it all the more thrilling.
Continuing to puzzle over his intentions, she sat at a small desk in the kitchen and opened her laptop. The only clue she had was when he said he liked to dominate. The first internet search for “submissive” provided unsatisfactory results, but when she added the word “dominant,” a whole new world opened up.

From my new Scottish novel, The Highland Lass, which releases on March 10th and is now available to pre-order!

Eilidh and Kirsty joined the other passengers walking along the pier towards the exit. Then she saw it, on a trajectory overlooking the river: the statue of Highland Mary.To the right of the incline, a path wove up through gardens to the Castle Museum. Kirsty
didn’t even have to ask. They made straight for the figure, clambering over the uneven path until they stood by the base of the statue to read the plinth: Erected in 1896 to commemorate
Mary Campbell, Burns’ Highland Mary, born in Dunoon in 1764. Eilidh noticed the eighteenth century style of dress, the kilted-up overdress, and the sweet face depicted in stone. Was she an ancestress, this Mary Campbell?

The short extract outlines the earl of Mellon's reaction to meting Mariah Fox in Mariah's Marriage by Anne Stenhouse.

When Tobias spoke the lady’s name, a vision of sparkling eyes that gave promise of mischief and perhaps a wish for excitement, flashed through his brain. He suspected she might not be as much of the educationalist stamp as her escort and her papa believed. But what was that to him?

SKIN DEEP ~ Winner of the Grand Prize in the Launching a Star Contest and my current WIP:
************

Emma's doctor stood framed in the doorway, a half-smile arrested on his face, his light brown eyes wide as he stared at me in shock.

The smell of him filled the room—almost spicy, and utterly terrifying. I froze, but the muscles under my skin rippled. Sucking in air, I flicked my tongue out across my lips. His scent flowed through my mouth. He tasted like heat, but not like prey.

From my latest release, Bring Me Luck

“You remembered that waltz we shared in Pa’s lineshack,” Jess said, his voice a notch above a whisper.
“I did no such thing,” she hissed.
He chuckled. “You did. I saw it in your eyes.” He inched closer, his cheek brushing hers. “I remember, too,” he said solemnly. “Not just our dance, but a lot of things.”

DEAD HANDSOME: A BUFFALO STEAMPUNK ADVENTURE, just released on 2/27/15:

"You will need some clothes." Clara barely knew where to look. With the man upright – at well over six feet in height – he made an impressive sight. No matter where she turned her gaze, it seemed somehow to glimpse his genitals. "My father's clothes will never fit. And yours, from the jail, are fit only for burning."

He tipped his head to one side and the dark hair, very nearly black, slid against his bruised neck like silk. He wore it long and it held a gleam like the wing of a blackbird. More dark hair clustered on his chest and trailed downward to the nest of curls at his –

Blast, she'd looked there again.

From my WIP, Delta for Death, the third in the Amy Hobbes Newspaper Mysteries, scheduled for release March 2015

Her version sounds bucolic and rural, a little slice of what a peaceful life was like before the modern age. Drowsy afternoons in summer, the slam of a screen door, the sound of a baseball bat hitting something.

Problem was, the baseball bat was hitting Suzy and the screen door slammed because the neighbor was running and screaming for the cops.

Keina sat on her haunches. "You're the top stallion in the kitchen. Earth cooking often confuses me."
"That's my filly girl." Drev's gaze was so glitter-intense with his desire for her, Keina glowed inside.
"Turn over, stud," she ordered, determined to make certain he was restored to full health. "I want to blow kisses on your sexy backside."

Wishing you love and passion on the wild side ...

From my last published novella, April Fool Bride:Is it a Marriage of Convenience, or something more?

Jake pulled her to her feet. "Maybe I think you're misguided. Maybe I disdain the fact that you can't be satisfied with what most people would consider a generous income—that you need millions instead. Need them so much you're willing to buy a husband. Or, maybe I'm just wondering what your mouth tastes like?"

From my new dark historical romance, Tyburn (The Southwark Saga, Book 1): http://www.amazon.com/Tyburn-Southwark-Saga-Book-1-ebook/dp/B00PQV6H9Q

*******
Sally heard the brutal crack of Claude’s strong, young neck reverberate through the darkest corners of her memory, felt his cold lips against hers once more in a terrible promise, and in her bones she felt the stillness of one who is certain they are about to die. She was immediately aware of the unique texture of every breath she drew, the sweet sigh of the breeze whispering through her hair, and the dirt, the calluses, the very fingerprints of the hand in hers.

So little of Sally’s life had been left up to her.

She might have days, hours, mere moments left, but she would be damned if she wasted them.

Tyburn is out now in paperback and as an e-book, and the second book in The Southwark Saga, Virtue's Lady, is coming out on April 13th. Check out my blog for historical articles, updates, snippets, author interviews, and the odd recipe: http://www.authorjessicacale.com. I hope to see you there!

These six sentences are from my latest release ONE MORE SECOND CHANCE, a small-town contemporary romance:

“I’m not your ex-husband, Julia,” he said fiercely. “I’m not going to abandon you and Ava.”

“Is Lobster Cove really the place you want to live and work for the rest of your life? Do you honestly want to live in a town this small forever?”

He hesitated, uncertainty evident on his face, and Julia pulled her hands away from his, her heart breaking. “That’s what I thought."

Thank you!

Martini Club 4 Series - Reckless - Kathy L Wheeler
Joey’s hands flew into the air, indicating his surrender. “Sorry, Dempsey. Had no idea she was anyone’s quiff—”
Meggie’s cheeks burned, and she stiffened at the insult. Harry’s one arm gripped her closer. The other shot up, jerking her body like a rag doll. She couldn’t see Harry’s face with her own now buried in his neck, but she felt the corded muscles contract. A split second later, a sickening crunch sounded followed by a deathlike groan.

I have an upcoming release in April called Night of the Blue Moon. It's the final book in the Blue Moon Series and will be on pre-order starting the middle of March. It's a shifter book about a found long-thought-lost son. Here's my six sentences:

He had always been in this cage in one way or another. Only recently, they’d decided to make it his permanent room. He remembered a time when the cage hadn’t been necessary, when he’d been a younger man, but that all changed with the appearance of the blonde bitch. Or had it?
