First Kiss Wednesday!

It's  First Kiss Wednesday!

Kisses are the mainstay of romance writing.  No matter how sweet or spicy our stories are, they usually involve at least a kiss or two.  And the first kiss is especially lovely - that first, soft touch of lips - or perhaps the kiss is fierce and hungry.  Maybe the characters murmur words of love or words of teasing while discovering the texture and taste of each other.  Maybe the only sounds they can emit are gentle, timorous moans or deep, throaty groans.

Okay, now that we've set the premise, here's what you can do.  In the comment box, give us your best kiss from a published work or a work-in-progress in a maximum of 300 words. Be sure to include one link to your website/blog and one buy link.

Read and luxuriate in the glories of the kiss...

Oh, and lips only...  ;-)

First kiss from time travel romance, Thoroughly Modern Amanda.

Excerpt:
Jack leaned forward, unable to stop himself, and lightly brushed his lips over hers. She tasted sweet, like cinnamon and sugar.

She reared back, her lips in a firm line, but then opened, as he enfolded her pliant body in his arms. He stroked his hands around her back and pulled her as close as possible. Her heart beat swiftly, like a delicate, caged bird.

The kiss rocked him to his core. Although he'd dreamed of kissing those lush lips, the reality was so much better. An ache formed in his chest at the thought of going home and never seeing her again.

He finally released her. Her eyes looked a bit glazed, her lips swollen and her hair mussed. He bit his lip, wondering what reception they'd get at supper.
****

Amanda's knees weakened as a thrill raced through her body. No man had ever kissed her like that. Of course, she hadn't had much opportunity with other men. And had never allowed Randolph to get so close.

She gazed into Jack's eyes. His lips twisted into an adorable half-smile, his eyes bright, face flushed. Had he felt the same thing she had?

"Are you okay, Amanda?" His smile turned down into a frown.

"I-I think so." She touched her lips, the sensation of his pressed against hers still with her. She was also very aware of his male scent. If she didn't fear someone would discover them, she'd fling her arms around him for another round of kisses.

First Kiss - Haydn and Kartinka.
Hellhounds like to lead. Kartinka doesn’t like to follow.

“This isn’t a good idea,” she said.

“You’re wrong,” he said, stepping toward her.

“Not tonight.”

He cupped her face in his hands. “We are a very good idea. Be my partner, Tinka.”

“I’ve accepted the assignment.”

He lowered his head. “Kiss me, Tinka.”

His lips covered hers, demanding and hungry. Kartinka answered in kind. Each time Haydn kissed her, her feelings for him swelled, erupting in a million tiny explosions she couldn’t explain or deny.

Her skin heated, burning in the cool night air. Her heart rate increased, and her heart thumped in excitement. The noise of the city, the blaring horns and sirens, was hushed by the sound of her blood roaring in her ears.

He wrapped his arms around her, held her tight and deepened the kiss.

Her senses reeled, doubt fading and resistance ebbing. She wrapped her arms around his neck and, with the flick of her thumb, set the safety on her weapon.

Tangled Love

A Historical Novel set in the reign of Queen Anne Stuart 1702 -1714

Viscount Chesney knelt on one knee. ‘Your wish is my command, but please allow me to continue. I hope you believe I am not a man to marry merely for a fortune. In truth, everything about you appeals to me. You will honour me if you accept my proposal. Although this sounds vain and self-seeking, I have much to offer you and do not think you are repulsed by me.’
She peeped at him through her lashes, remembering her instinctive response to his kisses and caresses. Her blood coursed through her veins singing with desire, but she was not to be so easily carried away on a tide of lusty desire by any handsome gentleman.
Chesney smiled. ‘I believe I will enjoy sharing my bed and board with you.’
Surely he had not read her mind! ‘What of me, my lord?’
‘What do you mean?’
She thrust her chin forward. ‘Do you think I will enjoy sharing my bed and board with you?’
His lips twitched with obvious amusement. ‘I shall endeavour to give you no cause for complaint.’

Since Ohio got blasted with more dose of winter… I'm sharing a steamy kissing scene between Presley, Gunnar, and Frazier from Merry and Bright, part of the Holiday Wishes themed releases from Silver Publishing, by my alter ego, Skylin O'Thomas.

~*~

Once she gave in to her carnal need, meaning her rational brain shut down the moment two sets of lips touched her skin, she had a vague recollection of feeling like her clothes were being scorched off her body. But that might have been the path they burned to her bedroom, the discarded garments leaving a telltale trail along the way. She had a pretty certain idea Gunnar had had to help her remove Frazier's pants… or maybe the other way around. Didn't matter… it made her hot any way she thought about it.

Presley almost wanted to pinch herself. Almost. But she feared it would detract from the exquisite feeling the two sets of hands created when they softly caressed over her heated skin. And the lips. Oh… yes… lips added to the mix proved to be such a good thing.

Funny… she knew the warm ones nuzzling the back of her neck belonged to Frazier and Gunnar had the cool ones, skimming over her shoulder. Combined, working in tandem, the heady desire for the two men had her quivering with anticipation.

Frazier Boyle. Gorgeous man… whose charm, wit, and intense commitment to his work drew her admiration. She'd never been immune to him, just tried very hard not to get caught up in it all—the man flirted with every single nurse in the ED. And Gunnar… handsome and strong-willed. She adored him for his heart, wisdom, and passion for justice. She loved to study him when he interviewed a victim. His eyes caught every little nuance, tone, and reaction with the victim's pain reflecting in their depths.

Both men made it easy to lose focus. Now proved no different.
Because… oh… their hands were magic.
