A SKELETON AT HER DOOR

Angie wanted to believe Tom, to have that faith and trust in him, but part of her couldn't. All that time in counseling only showed her that she was a magnet for the wrong kind of guys. **Is he just another jerk looking for a good time?**

Lily's Summer Cowboy

This was Maggie’s grandson?
Lily swallowed and swiped her palms down her jeans, realizing for the first time how she must look in a dust stained tank top and jeans, her tangled red hair in a ponytail pulled through the back of a ball cap. “Hello.”

From BAD DREAMS.
At 8-1/2 months pregnant Darla is restless and decided to take report.

Surely, Rafael would let her follow up on this little complaint. He had given her the job of determining which of the non-critical calls were most important and the order in which these calls would be attended. She made the other assignments and slipped on her utility belt, fastening it low under her belly. The weight of her holstered weapon felt good on her hip. Darla, being Darla, always carried a back-up weapon and she affixed her Smith and Wesson thirty-eight revolver to the back of her belt. She thought about her ankle holster, but the swelling in her lower extremities made her nix that idea immediately. She stood up and slid into her shoes.
Yes! I’m still me.
She rubbed her belly feeling her baby kick against her palm. Yes, my darling daughter. Your mama is going to take report.
She was glad Rafael was out of the office when she made for the door.
“Where do you think you’re going, little mama?” It was Ida giving her a hard time. She peered at Darla over the top of her red, cat’s eye glasses with her brows raised higher than seemed possible.
“Oh, Ida, don’t be a buzz kill.” Darla turned to grin at her. “I’m just going out to take a report from an elderly couple. Nothing to it.”

Here's a snippet from my steamy werewolf novella, Ilona's Wolf: A Fairy Tale Romance by Lyndi Lamont

The wolf looked at her, golden eyes gleaming, mouth open, showing off large, sharp teeth. She closed her eyes and gripped her throat with both hands. Quaking with terror, she listened as the animal padded toward her.

Here is a snippet from just one of many conversations that take place between Claire and her BFF Marcus in An Imperfect Match:
“Oh my God! You checked out my dad?”
“No, no. Noticing that someone is attractive and in good shape is
not the same thing as checking them out,” he explained calmly.
“Gross! I’m hanging up now—"

Annabelle stared at her kind teacher as though she had turned into a monster. “Mon dieu!” she raged, reverting to the French she spoke when she was a small child. “My God! Tomorrow? My guardian, whom I have never met expects me to marry a Frenchman - a stranger - tomorrow?

Here's a snippet from Broken Bonds:

Brad clasped Ardaval's outstretched hand, and the other man's suppressed

arousal flowed over him. Aleyni considered the touch of hands an intimate gesture because the contact conveyed the other person's thoughts and emotions. Brad may not have the mind speech abilities of the average Aleyni, but by God, he was empath enough to get plenty from Ardaval's touch.

A tiny taster from A Heat Of The Moment Thing:

He glanced longingly towards the door, and I felt guilty for snapping. Hell, it wasn’t his fault I’d ended up with stitches. Or that the med. student who’d applied them had felt compelled, in spite of my vanity protest, to shave a patch of my blood-soaked hair.

“You sick son of a bitches always call God when you’re in trouble. Picking the man up, he carried him down the alley and threw him into the dumpster. Closing the lid, he latched it. Chance heard mumbling and sent a hard kick to the metal container’s side. “God’s busy, he sent me.”
