The hero talking to his young teen daughter.

"You can't control what we do."
He looked up and smiled at her. "You're right, but I can make your lives miserable for the next few years."

From Midwinter Masquerade by Romy Gemmell

Hesitating for the merest moment, Lenora took his arm. She was hardly a simpering miss to react at the touch of a man’s hand on her arm, yet, annoyingly, she was not unmoved by his tall masculinity. The boy she once knew and loved had become a handsome man, the scar merely adding an intriguing, rakish air.

Sunday’s Child by Rosemary Morris

Extract
1st 3 lines from Prologue

Hertfordshire, England
1810

Fourteen year old, Georgianne Whitley leaned over the banister to watch her aunt’s butler admit a handsome cavalry officer dressed in uniform. One day, her mamma frequently assured her, she would marry such a military man, a member of her dear father’s regiment. Of course, this officer was probably too old to ever be her husband; however, in future, she was sure she would meet someone equally handsome with whom she would fall in love.

From historical vampire romance, Sweet Redemption.

Nathan opened his eyes and stared at the lights above them. "Is that heaven, sir?"

“If he is handsome, I may fight you for him.” Elva smiled, deepening the wrinkles around her eyes.

“Welcome to him either way.”

Mistletoe Wedding, a sweet contemporary romance

And she knew with pulse-pounding certainty.

All the rationalizations of why romantic feelings didn’t matter and why she was better off alone than in a relationship disappeared like a snowflake being caught on a tongue. They mattered, and she wanted those things badly.

My snippet is from my soon to be released contemporary romance, ONE MORE SECOND CHANCE from The Wild Rose Press's Lobster Cove Series. Alex Campbell, an ER doctor, is suspicious of the injuries Julia Stewart's five-year-old daughter has sustained:

When he turned back to her, his steely control was back in place. “So yeah, if I have even the smallest suspicion that a child has been abused, I’m going to ask questions. And I’m not going to apologize for it.”

Thanks!

The minor notes of both instruments filled the room, overshadowing the clinking of bottles and glasses and the low-toned conversations. Blocking other sights and sounds, she sang of the sadness of trying to save love only to lose it in the end.
Her petite body sheathed in a floor-length black tank dress with ruffles running diagonally across the bodice, Phoebe warbled into the microphone.

HER MIDNIGHT STARDUST COWBOYS, a ShapeShifter Seductions Presents Novel.

X-Snippet:

Just observing her, Zance knew Sherilyn possessed untapped reservoirs of passion that he and Dontoya would greedily tap into, bring to the surface.

Dang his hide, but he ached to lick and taste her nipples. He wanted Sherilyn so sensitive to his fondling of her breasts, she would orgasm whenever he decided to handle her in that way.

Snippet from Beltaine's Song, a Celtic romance/fantasy set in Dark Age Scotland:
She stopped struggling and submitted to his touch, falling limp in his arms.
“Yer body does not hate me,” he whispered, crushing his lips to her mouth, kissing her roughly.
Anger turned into passion. Her body burned with desire underneath his touch.
