Here's a little snippet from my contemporary romance, Sean's Sweetheart:

She tugged at his neck, pulling his head down toward her. Even a saint couldn’t resist her when that little tongue darted out, licking her lips in anticipation. And he was no saint.

An ancient shaman finds love in a modern world.
........................................................................
He could choose for himself where his sleeping mind went and live as any man might for the duration of his sleep. But he rarely chose to dream as a man. The gift of this remembering was, more times than not, unbearable.

From my latest western romance, The Long Road To You --

Margee's arms and legs were strained to their utmost. Sweat dripped down her face and neck caking dust into mud streaks along the side of her nose, on her upper lip, and her chin. Branding a calf was difficult, but the cowboys made it look easy.

From Mariah's Marriage, Regency London

“Is Mr. Brent a noted gossip?” Mariah asked. “Does he entertain himself by sending snippets of information about his friends to the newspapers?”
“I hope I choose my friends with greater care,” Tobias snapped. Too late, he remembered Miss Fox had every reason to believe she was the injured party.

Still, I’m going to keep a close eye on her. And if she so much as puts a hand on him, I'll cut her heart out. I know how to do it, too. I’ve been reading ahead - the instructions are right there in Grant's Dissector. Page 75.

From Civil War holiday romance, The Christmas Ball.

Sara lifted her pistol and fired off a few shots. The corporal did the same. After a few minutes, the other soldiers with them approached, crawling on their elbows.

From A Gift for Murder, a contemporary mystery with a bit of romance:

“Heather?” Janelle, the Show Center’s director and my boss, sounded disturbed. Unflappable Janelle sounding disturbed was worse than most people shouting or having hysterics.
“Problem?” I asked, trying not to stare at the stranger, who lingered near the doorway. A quick glance said he was worth a look.

Hi! My snippet today is from ONE MORE SECOND CHANCE which releases February 6:

She turned toward the familiar voice, her heart in her throat. Alex smiled down at her, his dark eyes warm and full of an emotion she was afraid to name. The last words he’d said to her came immediately to mind: I’m not going to give up on you, on us.

Thank you!

From Lady Luck by Julie Lence

She grabbed his lead rope and led him to Lucas. The labored horse pawed the ground and flared his nostrils at the smell of fresh blood. Before he could run away, Missy tied him to the stage and saddled him then she slid her hands beneath Lucas' shoulders and gave them a hard yank.
"Are you hoping to kill me?" he wheezed.

This wee snippet is from The Trouble With Dying by Maggie Le Page, a suspenseful chick lit read with a pinch of paranormality :)

I’m looking at my comatose body, the wires and tubes and assisted breathing, and all I see is brain squidge. Oozing, gloopy brain squidge.

My past may be gone forever.

And I haven’t the slightest clue if it was one worth keeping.
