Thumbs Up!

There's just no way every book will please every reader, so the occasional poor review is an inevitable fact in an author's life. (High-profile, highly-praised authors have them too.) Liking the good reviews makes them stand out on top and sends the poorer reviews to the bottom. Today's meme helps one another do just that.

Do you have a review you'd rather not have sitting on top of all your good reviews?  In comments, share your book link then scroll through the participants and do some Liking yourself. You just might find that next great read while you're at it.

Share your participation with a ready-to-go tweet.
Or make your own.

I gotta admit -- this meme confuses me. At first reading, it sounds like we're to put up a negative review, which actually might be interesting. But then it moves on to ask us to "like" positive reviews on other authors' sites. I'm not sure how to "like" a comment. I think Amazon allows you to say that a comment was helpful to you. Did I miss something? Plus, to be honest, I don't want to review or like a review of a book I haven't read. It feels dishonest. I'm sure I have this all wrong, so can someone explain to me what this meme is about? Signed, Sophia the Lost

PS: I did get the part about adding your book link, so here goes:

6 Days of You
Sin City Alibi
She Likes It Irish
Dirty Little Secret

I'm sorry you're confused by the wording. On Amazon our reviews have the ability to be ranked for importance. if you click the good reviews, they rise to the top of the rank. All this does is highlight the good reviews. The bad reviews remain, but they slip to the bottom. Hope that helps. It's simply a way for authors to help other authors stay in the best light possible because all reviews are a matter of opinion. One man's ceiling is another man's floor.

Sorry I missed this. I hope you do it again, as my good reviews are all below the worst reviews. :( Will give the above the thumbs up.
