From Heart of Stone by Madeline Archer
Find this story and more in the Entice Me Anthology.

The instant the guard killed the old cat, the familiar spirit found the doomed fledgling on the ground and borrowed its body. Drawn to the eldritch energies inhabiting the chick, the young witch found her familiar. It was much the way Martin had come to Finola when she was a girl.
They took the tiny hatchling along, sensing that if they kept the chick alive they would survive the treacherous sea crossing.

The Sheriff's Son by Barbara White Daille

From page one:

The eeny-meeny-miny-mo approach to paying bills wouldn’t keep creditors from her door much longer.

Sarah Lindstrom sighed, planted her elbows on the desk and buried her face in her hands.

What she wouldn’t do for some matches or a fireplace. But the only bookstore in Dillon, Texas, wasn’t the place to find either of those things, even if she were dumb enough to resort to drastic measures.

~~

This is my first book, now being reissued in larger print and e-book, exclusively from Harlequin.

The original version can still be found at your favorite e-tailers, including Amazon.

Here's the opening from my Valentine story, CHILL OUT, a romantic comedy:

His breath was hot on her face. Renata moaned as
he licked the shell of her ear, his wet tongue rasping
over her sensitive skin. Blindly, she reached up to touch
his smooth hair, his soft beard, his wet nose…

Wait. His what?

Have a great Sunday!

Snippet:
"It's, it's, it's…" Robert stammered and pointed at Runt.
"This is Runt," Marcus explained, "the prisoner I told you about."
Robert gathered his wits together long enough to form a coherent sentence. "You rescued the dragon?"

From my next release... WAITING FOR A FILLY GIRL, a ShapeShifter Seduction Erotic Romance

As Keina flew into his embrace, Drev intimately teased, "Waiting for my filly girl."

Keina bounced to her tiptoes, landing a sumptuous kiss on his lips. Drev roamed his hands over her small naked back, over her satin-soft skin. He kissed her with all the primal and volatile passion inside him.

THE CARESS OF A COMMANDER by Linda Rae Sande

“Perhaps you can demonstrate?” he suggested, silently cursing his mother for not having told him about ladies’ fans.

Although she appeared a bit shocked by his request, Lucida gave a nod. “If I am fanning myself slowly …” She opened the fan wider and held it beneath her face, flicking her wrist so the fan barely moved. “It means I am married.”

“Are you?” Stephen asked, his eyes widening suddenly.

Lucida shook her head. “No, my lord. If I were, I assure you, I would not be wearing this hideous white ball gown.”

Stephen frowned. “But your ball gown is quite beautiful,” he replied with a shake of his head.

Blinking, Lucida suddenly decided she would wear the very same gown at every ball for the rest of the Season.

Her hand drifted up toward the image, hovering several inches from the picture of his face. She glanced around. None of the other shopkeepers were outside. No one was watching.

“Bastard,” she whispered to herself, and ripped the poster off the wall.

She arched her back beneath him, his touch like throwing gasoline on a flame. His triumphant smile lit up his face, and she studied every contour and line, committing it to memory.
“Satisfy me,” she said.

Shana loved Dane’s profile most.
“Valentine’s Day is ridiculous,” he said. She watched him squint into the winter sun. It glinted off the snow-covered sand and cold gray ocean waves. He stood wearing only a sweatshirt, not bothering with the hood. Shana shuddered from the cold—or so she told herself.

“You’re not catching my baby in a bucket,” Samantha exclaimed.
“It’s not for the baby, now relax,” he soothed, “I’ve been brushing up on my delivery training.”
“You—” Samantha felt tears spring to her eyes. He cared about her. Why else would the big jerk go to the trouble of “brushing up” and hang around an oversized pregnant sow like her?

From The Wolf Queen:

Evil can be deceiving, when it hides behind a handsome face and charming smile.
As soon as the ship made port here in the lands Aramon ruled, Alara’s betrothed, who had attracted her with his appealing manner, became distant. The foreign king’s vile treatment of the people he’d enslaved sickened her.
Even worse, he has discovered the terrible secret of my clan and plans to use it, to use me, to unleash something horrible on our wedding night. I cannot allow that to happen.

From Felicity's Power:

The place hadn't changed, not since the 70s. Yellow walls, a long Formica counter. Cheap metal-legged tables, plastic chairs. A heavy odor of fried-out fat hung on the air.
Aside from a chunky, bored-looking cook in a dirty white apron who stood picking his teeth with a frazzled toothpick, the place was empty.
