Love Me Forever, A Civil War time travel romance

Liberty Jordan put her fingers in her ears as fire burst from the barrel of the cannon. Damn, that was loud. The screaming artillery fire shattered her nerves, shaking her, making her teeth rattle in her head...

She’d already died three times today, and it wasn’t even noon.

From my upcoming book Finders Keepers (A Jane Barnaby Adventure):

She knew she’d said too much. Alex’s eyes lit up, just for an instant, when she mentioned Mallorca. That was something, obviously, he hadn’t known. But he caught himself almost immediately, and so did she. She wondered if he knew that she knew he was putting on an act. She wondered if he knew that she knew that he knew she was, too. And she wondered if she had any aspirin in her purse, because that train of thought was giving her a headache.

From the opening scene of The Sheriff's Son:

She sneaked another glance at Tanner. He didn’t look nearly as fierce as he had when he’d first come into the store, Kevin dangling from his fingertips.

With any luck, she’d get by with a written warning, instead of a ticket she couldn’t hope to pay.

From The Wizard's Shield, a contemporary paranormal mystery romance:

Ilene smelled magic as she drove onto the bridge. A whiff of sandalwood mixed with nutmeg and ozone teased her nose. Michael’s magic. The scent roused a trail of memories and evoked the same visceral reaction now that it had twelve years ago. Her pulse sped up and her stomach twisted with longing. Stupid, stupid. She was over him. Had been for years.

Grace Talbot gripped the steering wheel of her white four-wheel-drive truck. Every muscle in her body tensed as she leaned closer to the windshield, straining her eyes, searching the blowing snow for the reflector poles, which lined the road, or for any tire track, which would indicate someone else had driven through recently.

Traveling the remote rural Wyoming road in a blizzard was risky, and she would have avoided such a stupid act if her Uncle Moss wasn’t in the hospital fighting for his life and Butch, his only hired ranch hand, wasn’t dead.

From A Beastly Scandal, a Regency paranormal romance

"You did not faint?" Mrs. Jones's query sounded like an accusation.

Happy Sunday! Here's a snippet from my Valentine story CHILL OUT:

She strained toward him, needing his kiss, needing to heal his pain. His lips parted against hers, and she opened her mouth eagerly, reveling in his taste as his tongue danced with hers. The world faded away, and nothing existed for her except this man and all the tenderness she felt for him. It felt so right to kiss him, so perfectly, completely right.
