WARNING FOUL LANGUAGE-CURSING!

Forever: Jeffery and Letitzia's Story (A River City Novel Book 4)
http://amzn.com/B009MLQUKW

Letitzia whipped around with the vegetable knife still in her hand. “You do that and you’re dead! Construction will not stop. Bremmer will do whatever I tell him to do. I’ve already informed him of Poppa’s death and told him to keep working. We’re under a deadline to finish that new building, and if we take four days off, we’ll be four days behind.” She brandished the knife as she spoke. “And what gives you the authority to call anyone about Poppa’s business?”

“Zee, I’m trying to help. I know all about business. I can handle this.”

“You aren’t handling anything. I’m the one who worked beside my father everyday. I’m the one that handles the books, the sub-contractors, and everything else. I’m the one with the engineering degree. You - you own a restaurant.”

“Zee, apologize to your Uncle Leo. He’s trying to help and you are being ungrateful.” Leo’s wife admonished.

Letitzia shot her aunt a venomous glare and then turned to her uncle. “A restaurant is a restaurant. Would you have wanted my poppa to come tell you what to do with your restaurant?”

“Of course not. He couldn’t boil water!”

“Well, I’m not going to tell you how to make soup, and you don’t know the difference between OSB and PVC so don’t stick your nose in it. This was Poppa’s business, not yours. For Momma’s sake, it’s got to keep going.”

“If that’s what you want, Zee, go right ahead and run that business. No one is going to take a woman seriously. You are fishing in the ocean and not a pond. It’s going to swallow you whole, and then you’re going to come begging me to take care of your dear momma.”

“Fuck you!”

“Zee!” several of the women said in unison.

It was Letitzia’s Aunt Rosina that told her to get out of the kitchen until she composed herself.

“Fine, I will.”

From 2009 time travel romance release, Erin's Rebel.

Excerpt:
Erin opened the box and lifted out the silver-framed brooch containing dark woven hair and a photo of Erin O'Connell. She gasped as she'd stared at the old photograph. Except for the woman's hair parted in the center with a knot in the back and plumper cheeks, the woman could have been her.

Erin sank to the lumpy cot in her tent and raised a hand to her face. How had this happened? Everything was too real to be a dream. If only she could talk to Grandma Rose again. She'd always suspected Grandma was a mystic, although Mom had scoffed at such things.

When Erin had been a child, Grandma told her she was a descendent of practitioners of a mysterious Celtic sect. But her mother had been far too pragmatic to entertain the old woman's stories of the supernatural, telling Erin her grandmother liked to spin fanciful tales.

Now, she wondered, could Grandma have some kind of influence on events beyond the grave? Maybe the trunk would shed light on the situation.

Kneeling, she pulled the heavy chest out and opened it. A blue patterned dress sat neatly folded on top. She lifted it out and rifled through the other contents — long cotton slips with wide ruffles at the hem, a few aprons, a thick green and blue plaid shawl, and a corset. She held the white cotton garment, decorated with pale blue ribbons, and stretched it out before her.

"All right, Grandma, just what did you get me into?"

From "Poems About Life, Love, and Everything in Between"

TURN A PAGE

I now turn a page of life’s great book,
and start on a sheet that’s bright and new.
I now have a chance to start at the top,
and be careful the whole way through.
My last page is filled with lines of life,
that’ll soon be just memories of times gone by.
Of lessons I learned, good times I had,
and the friends I made through and through.
Those lessons and friends will not be forgotten,
though the next page be ever so fair.
For the leaf that tells of these past years,
shall be for eternity there.
This year marks the thirtieth year,
of my joyful birth.
I hope to live on forever,
and increase abundantly in worth.
So as I turn slowly the well worn page,
that tells of all these happy years.
I am rather glad and rather sad.
I’m happy, but then there are tears.
I bid adieu to my family and friends,
and gaze upon the new.
But remember whether I’m happy or sad,
I often think, dear life, of you.

From--Gambler's Folly

“Doesn’t anyone knock around here?” she asked the room service
girl, irritably.
“Sorry, madam,” the girl apologized. “Shall I make a note of it?”
“Whatever,” Karianna said.
“Is there anything else, madam?”
“No, thank you. This is fine.”

After the girl left, Karianna poured a cup of rich, black coffee, and
tore off a piece of the fresh hot bread, spreading a bit of the jam on it.
The jam was unfamiliar but wonderfully sweet and spicy. Hungrily,
she finished what was on the tray. She took another cup of coffee over
to the sofa and curled up to relax, wondering what her day would be
like.

She must have drifted off after she finished her coffee. The
chuckle behind her slowly cut through the fog, as she tried to figure
out where she was.

“So sleepy, cara. But come, it’s time you met your trainer.”

Angry again, Karianna glared at Mr. Leone and asked, “Doesn’t
anyone around this damned place know how to knock on the door?”

“But, Kari, why should I knock on my own door? As for everyone
else, when I’m here, I prefer they just come in, do what they have to
do and leave me alone. If I don’t want to be disturbed, I leave word.”

“So where’s this trainer?” Karianna asked. Mr. Leone was the
only one in the suite with her.

“He’s in the gym, cara. Where else? Come.”

“Sit. Stay,” Karianna added.
“Sit, stay, what?” Mr. Leone asked, confused.

“Never mind. Let’s just go.”

Viking Fire - Historical Romance with a touch of magic

“The bedchambers are upstairs.” Karieen waved a hand to the stairs.
“Lead the way, then, my lady.” He grinned. His smile did not falter her resolve to be rid of him; instead, she stomped each booted foot on the stone steps.
“Our room.” She waved her hand as she stood at the threshold.
He moved passed her and into the room. “Tis the first you admit we marry.”
“No. I said no such—”
He pulled her in his embrace and she went rigid. She opened her mouth to scream, but as she drew a breath, his lips crushed hers. Tingles of warmth crept from inside her to the tips of her toes. Her mind raced, demanding she be free, while her traitorous body melted in his arms. His kiss became gentle and sparked a craving inside her for more. His mouth opened, offering her to taste secrets. She slackened against him as his tongue played across her lips, stroking, and numbing her thoughts. He did not force his way further, but ended the kiss with her lips yearning for his. Then he stepped back.
“Your lips and eyes speak of your love.” He beamed at her frown. “Now I am sure of your passion for me.”
“No.” That was enough! He had overstepped his bounds with his prideful arrogant assumptions. “You are mistaken; I wish to never marry you.” She would not fall in love with him. No matter his handsome face. She must not allow herself to acknowledge that she liked it when he kissed her. She would never be free if he became the laird over her.
“Aye, your kiss spoke more than you know.” He chuckled and held her hand kissing her palm. “In time the rest of you will agree as well.”
