Missy Martine's Scorching Romances

Hello, I'm Missy Martine.  I enjoy telling people how I got my start in writing books because I want everyone to understand that it's never too late to start over in life.

Like a lot of little girls, I dreamed of growing up to be a nurse.  Luckily for me, my dreams came true.  Starting as an aide, I worked my way up, spending time in each department of the hospital, until finally I was hired away to manage a medical supply house.  Life was good!  I'd finally worked up the courage to end a twenty year abusive relationship, and I was happily married to my soul mate.  Things could not be any better.

Then, fate decided to remind me that she was in charge of my destiny.  I had a series of small strokes that left me pretty incapacitated for about a year.  Although I recovered for the most part, I was left with gaps in my short-term memory.  For all intent and purposes, my career in the medical profession was over.

I lounged around watching television and reading romance novels for a couple of years until my husband finally said, "Enough!"  He wanted me to do something constructive, something that would challenge and strengthen my mind.  He laughingly told me, "You've read enough of those silly romance books you should be able to write your own."

After a year of constant nagging, I finally sat down to write my first book.  I based "Table for Three" loosely on my first marriage,  not really believing anyone else would want to read it.  No one was more surprised than me when Siren/Bookstrand sent me a letter offering to publish my story.

The point to my long-winded story...never give up!  I restructured my life long after the age of fifty, and so can you.  It's never too late to change for the better, and you're never too old for romance.  My writing has improved my life in many ways.  It's brought me new friends, improved my health, and brought romance back to the front burner of my life.  I'm almost sixty years old now, and I feel like I'm just getting started.  Take chances, and never settle when you could have so much more.

Now let me tell you a little bit about my books!

A Wolfen Heritage Trilogy

Determined to make a new life for herself, Maddie Bowers travels to her late grandfather's cabin in Wyoming. When she was a little girl, she was first introduced to her grandfather's wolf and is delighted to find the wolf still living in the nearby woods, and that the wolf remembers her.

Remus has known Maddie was his mate since she was young. But a tragic accident and a cruel doctor kept them apart. Now that she is back, it's up to him to help her control her secret abilities and accept the truth about her heritage.

The love between Maddie and Remus will be threatened by a jealous woman and Maddie's brother's partnership with the evil doctor that kept her confined for so many years. Can Maddie and Remus realize their destiny before it's too late?

Michael spent his adulthood taking care of his baby sister, pretty much putting his own desires on hold. Then Maddie fell in love and married, freeing Michael to have a life of his own.

He doesn’t think things can get any better. He’s a single, successful architect with his own firm, living and playing in downtown Houston. What more could he want out of life?

Just when he believes everything is perfect, Maddie shatters his illusions by revealing their family’s furry secret. Now his sister is growling and running around on four legs while trying to convince him he has an inner wolf of his own. And if that’s not bad enough, he’s falling in love with a woman who occasionally has more hair on her legs than he does.

So, what’s Michael’s response to all the changes in his life? He denies everything!

What happens when brother wolf shifters fall in love with the same woman? Wolves don’t share their mates, or do they?

Ethan and Latan can’t keep their hands off the Pack’s new schoolteacher.  Unfortunately, Kitania is proving to be quite the mystery. She has no scent identifying her inner beast, no background they can verify, and she seems entirely too interested in their family’s arch enemy.

Kitania’s in love for the very first time. Even knowing they’ll send her packing if they find out what she truly is, she’s still dreaming of family, and happily ever after. She can’t afford to be distracted if she wants to complete her mission for the National Council.

When their enemy captures a family member, Kitania must decide where her loyalties lie. She can reveal her true nature and help with the rescue, but will it cost her the love of the brothers?

This trilogy was so popular I recently started a new series bringing these characters back and adding members to their families.

Laynee Conners has been in a school for the blind since her mother died when she was five. Now, her father wants her to come home so he can get his hands on the inheritance her grandfather left her.

David and Eric Rivers are brothers, adopted into the Wind River Pack. They’re called home to Wyoming when their alpha wants to do a head count of all his pack members. Children are disappearing from other packs, and he’s concerned about his family.

The brothers find Laynee in the woods, drugged and left to die. Both their beasts claim the fragile young woman as their mate.

Can a bear and a wolf share a mate?

Time’s running out. They have to convince Laynee she’s theirs before her father succeeds in his plans.

Maybe your taste is more historical.

Sarah Keevers had lived and worked in an orphanage in St. Louis since she was five years old. She’d stayed on to protect the younger children from the harsh headmistress. Now, she’s inherited money from a grandfather she never knew she had, and she wants to take the children far away. The only problems are the children don’t legally belong to her, and women have no legal rights in 1856.

So, Sarah changes her name to Samuel Kees, disguises the children, and heads west with her new family. She settles in Big Springs and meets up with Abe West, the local sheriff, and his brother, Ike. The two men discover her secret and decide she’d make the perfect wife.

They’re going to do everything they can to earn her trust. Will they be able to protect Sarah, and hold on to her love when her picture shows up on a wanted poster for kidnapping?

How about a little time travel!

Anna can’t believe how much the woman in the picture looks like her. They could be twins, except the picture was taken in 1871. Either she’s a relative, or Anna had a past life in Hamilton, Nevada. Either way, the temptation to visit the old ghost town is too much. She and her friend Kat travel west.

While off exploring on her own, Anna is knocked unconscious when she falls down the steps in the saloon. She can hardly believe her eyes when she wakes.

Beau and Zeke won the Silver Rush Saloon in a poker game and have been partners and secret lovers for over ten years. They don’t know what to make of the woman they found half-dressed in their cellar. She claims to know something terrible that’s about to happen to their town and needs their help.

Will Anna be able to win their love and trust before it’s too late?

Kat Evans is on vacation with her best friend when they visit the ghost town of Hamilton, Nevada. When Anna disappears, Kat begins a frantic search.
Something draws her to the old saloon, and when she investigates, she’s pulled through a time portal back to 1899.

David Bennington-Martinson and Win Warrior own the Silver Rush Saloon, and have been secret lovers for years. They both yearn to find a woman they can share, someone that would round out their family.

When they discover Kat in their cellar, they know she’s the woman they’ve been waiting for. Unfortunately, someone else has figured out her secret, and they’ll do anything to travel back to the future.

Kat’s going to have to make a choice. Will she go back to her own time, or stay in the past with David and Win?

Eva grew up knowing her mother came from the future. When Timothy Canders holds the family at gunpoint in an effort to make them summon the time-portal, she’s accidentally pulled in with him. But when she arrives in 2014, Timothy is nowhere to be found.

Tony and Zach investigated when two women disappeared from Hamilton two years ago. Imagine their surprise when a young woman, dressed like the old west, comes walking out of the old, broken down saloon.

Eva falls in love with her two rescuers but doesn’t realize a policewoman on the force will do anything to keep Tony for herself. When the young policewoman finds evidence tying Eva to the disappearance of the missing women she has to find a way to get back to her own time, or face a lifetime in prison. Will the portal allow the men to travel back with her, or leave them behind?

Not into time travel, how about futuristic sci-fi?

Galactic Nuptials finds mates for species living in the Federation of Planets. They offer monetary incentives to lure young women into leaving their home planets to find love. Each prospective mate has ninety days to decide if their new home is right for them.

Caleigh Davis is struggling to raise her younger brother alone. The last thing she expects is for him to sign her name to a contract with a mail-order bride agency.

Andon and Tarik of the Castir Clan have tried to lure a mate to their home on Kilara twice before. Tarik doesn’t want to risk his heart a third time, so Andon doesn’t tell him when he contracts with Galactic Nuptials for a wife from Earth.

With so much deception, can the three of them find love before Caleigh’s trial period runs out?

Jenilyn Montgomery took a job with Gracely Investments to find out what happened to her best friend. She knows they’re behind Linda’s disappearance, but she can’t prove it. When she finds evidence of their illegal activities, she uses her computer skills to hide their vast fortune and is arrested for embezzlement.

Zintssar and Kernztssar are visiting Earth on a diplomatic mission when they scent their fated mate. They can read her emotions and know she’s hiding something, but she’s not really a criminal. But that’s okay because they’re hiding a pretty big secret themselves. They’ll do anything to take her back to Kilara as their bride.

What will Jenilyn do when she’s offered the choice of a prison term or leaving Earth as mate to the handsome brothers?

Meredith Carter is lonely and just wants to find someone to love. The nice people at Galactic Nuptials assure him that some of their clients prefer male mates.

The leader of the Chaarta pride sent all their cubs into hiding with Delsin and Etu when the war started. Now, they’re all that’s left of their pride. They’re desperate for a mate to care for the five small young ones. When they find the picture of the lovely creature with long brown hair in Galactic Nuptial’s catalog, they know they’ve found their mate.

It’s too bad they didn’t read the small print. What’re they going to do when they find out "Meredith" can be a male’s name too?
