Happy Friday, and thanks to EQ for the chance to share!

This is from my current release, The Lawman's Christmas Proposal:

Watching him in the dining room surrounded by her family had been bad enough, allowing her too much time to resurrect the many sweet memories she had buried long ago.

But to her dismay, standing outside with him had been so much worse. Being with him had forced her to see what she didn’t want to admit.

Time and distance and even marriage to a man she loved with all her heart hadn’t destroyed her feelings for Mitch.

As always, thanks for the opportunity to share. This is from Death of an Idiot Boss.

"I want those invoices on my desk today,” Winston said.

I wanted his head on my wall now and started counting before Winston’s shadow left the room. “Decem, noven, octo, septem.” Counting in Latin made me focus on the counting instead of its source. By the time I’d made it down to unus, the urge to smack Winston into next week had passed.

From my contemporary romance Something Good.

Mandi had avoided the beach since that one time she'd ventured out alone – instead of soothing her the way it used to, it'd been lonely. And every night when she went to bed, the darkness reminded her that she'd left more than a chunk of her heart in Texas. What was she supposed to do? Live without it?
Finally, she answered him. "Yes. You can come visit."

“Until what?” Grace screamed into the receiver, which was now dead.

Blue bolted from his position curled up in front of the fire, teeth bared, hair standing on the back of his neck, a low growl resonating from deep in his chest. Aussie joined in, and the two dogs’ reactions sent terror through Grace’s mind.

Hanging up the phone, she raced to the window and froze at the sight of headlights approaching the house.

From THE BRIDE TOURNAMENT:

No one would see how the news of Arthur’s attainder or delay of their wedding affected her. “We must tell the guests the wedding has been postponed and send them away.”

“They shall remain,” her father replied. “Because you will marry today. You are bound by contract to wed the Earl of Glasmere. So you shall.”

From Once Upon A Dream ....
They were close enough that their shoulders brushed. So close, she could smell the scent of fresh cedar shakes and aftershave. She wanted him to take her into his arms. Would they be stronger than they were five years ago? Would his kiss leave her mind blank, desperate for the intimacy that she’d left when he walked away?

ECHOES OF THE PAST

“I’ve been wondering for the last couple of days how life would’ve been if Mum and I hadn’t left. But I cannot complain. I received a good education, a great job, some good friends, and a neat little house outside London.” He looked up at her. “Life’s not always wrapped up in some fancy, colourful wrapping paper, but it’s still a gift worth treasuring.”

Love your voice and how you introduced tension and fear with Blue's reaction. I was intrigued enough to read more about A Dose of Danger. Well done.
