It's First Kiss Wednesday!
Kisses are the mainstay of romance writing. No matter how sweet or spicy our stories are, they usually involve at least a kiss or two. And the first kiss is especially lovely - that first, soft touch of lips - or perhaps the kiss is fierce and hungry. Maybe the characters murmur words of love or words of teasing while discovering the texture and taste of each other. Maybe the only sounds they can emit are gentle, timorous moans or deep, throaty groans.
Okay, now that we've set the premise, here's what you can do for First Kiss Wednesdays. In the comment box, give us a maximum of 300 words of the first kiss of a published work or a work-in-progress and one link to your website or blog or Amazon Author Page.
Read and luxuriate in the glories of the first kiss...

First kiss from TORN, by Gilli Allan
‘Sheila, can I introduce you to...?’ Jess looked up at him and they both burst out laughing. ‘I don’t know! I don’t know who you are!’
‘Danny,’ he said, and extended his hand. But Sheila couldn’t shake it; hers were full of the champagne bottle and glasses.....
Aware though Jess was of her friend’s disappointment this was not the time to question why or feel guilty. Sheila was an adult and not her responsibility. Someone had turned on a radio. The countdown had begun.
Jessica looked up at her partner again. ‘Hallo Danny,’ she said, as Big Ben chimed.
As the final chime reverberated, the cheers from the radio station mixed with the cheers, claps and hoots of the assembled throng. A rocket shot up from the end of the garden to yet more cheers, New Year greetings, and kisses. Everyone was kissing the one they were with. What could be more natural?
Jess raised her face to Danny’s. He bent his to hers. The kiss went on, through Auld Lang Syne and after. Around them party poppers were released, klaxons sounded, balloons burst. More fireworks exploded. If the electric pulse that jolted through her when she first saw him had been a warning, then this time it felt like the full blown charge. Every organ lurched, her heart went into overdrive and her genitals contracted in a sharp, hungry spasm. There was no way she was going to stop doing this just to share a spurious and unfelt bonhomie with a roomful of strangers. There was only one stranger here who interested her – her arms were twined around his neck – that she knew nothing about him beyond his Christian name was incidental. Time enough for details. After a while they drew apart and smiled dazedly at each other. Danny bent and kissed her once more.
‘Let’s go and watch the fireworks, Jess,’ he said.

His hand came up, fingers lightly stroking her head. “I’m sorry. I had to know.” His voice was soothing now, the hardness gone. “Let’s get you out of here and somewhere safe.” He felt a tightening in his gut—repressed anger at whoever was responsible for the terror inflicted upon her trembling body. That intoxicating scent she wore and the warmth and close proximity of her body pressed up against his was also playing havoc with his senses. It made him feel both protective and turned on.
She withdrew her face from his shoulder, her glistening gaze meeting his head-on and in that split second all rational thought left him as he lowered his mouth upon hers. She didn’t pull back or push him away. Instead her lips opened, welcoming him in as if they were already lovers embarking on a passionate tryst. It was exquisite and surreal delving into her moist recess—his tongue twining around hers and feeling his body harden with desire and yearning. As if an electric current had struck him he broke away, releasing his hold on her at the same time.
“I’m sorry, that should never have happened.” He said hurriedly. Realization hit him hard and with it came the feeling he had just put his whole professional career in jeopardy doing something he had never contemplated before—mixing work with pleasure. What was he thinking of? He had a corpse, a goon down in the lobby and more probably on their way back here, and he was getting fresh with the witness who for all he knew could be as guilty as her dead boyfriend.

First kiss from Under His Skin2: Flirt, available now from Loose Id
Flirt shook his head, his smile exposing the tips of his canines. Toby looked away and stared at the television. He could see Flirt’s reflection in it. His smile was gone, but when he realized Toby was watching him in the shiny glass, his lips quirked up again.
Toby wanted to tear his gaze away, but that smile was hypnotic, equal parts feral and genuinely pleased. Toby swallowed, Adam’s apple bobbing against the neck of his shirt.
Flirt reached up, sliding uncalloused fingers along Toby’s jawline and up his cheek. His hand was warm as he cupped Toby’s chin and turned Toby slowly toward him. Toby’s lips parted as the selkie’s face angled toward his.
Flirt kissed him gently at first, a soft pressure against Toby’s open mouth. Tentative. As he pulled away, Toby followed, unwilling to break contact. He slid his arm around Flirt’s shoulders and brought his hand up to slide his fingers into the selkie's hair, palm against the back of his head. Flirt pushed forward into the renewed kiss, mouth opening against Toby’s. Toby ran his tongue over the pronounced canines and pushed deeper to meet Flirt’s nimble tongue.

Here is the first kiss from The Appearance of Impropriety. I'm going to a luncheon and horseshow in Wellington, Florida at the Equestrian Center today where Tori and Zack's story took place. It's one of my favorite places.
The Appearance of Impropriety by Skye Michaels
M/F Erotic Romance – Scorching
Finally, the announcement came over the loud speaker. "The results of Class 21, FEI Free Style, Open, in Ring 1 are: First Place to Steffen Peters riding Raval; Second Place to Victoria Aldrich riding Rachmaninoff; Third Place to Jennifer Torlone riding Rampante; Fourth Place to Patricia Moir riding Mirage; Fifth Place to Toby Perkins riding William the Conqueror; and Sixth Place to Patricia Walker riding Blue Rose Cornwallant. Will the riders please return to the ring for the presentation of ribbons."
Tori was beaming. “I’m so excited! A 'second' behind Steffen Peters on Raval is not too shabby.” Zack pulled Tori down and gave her an impulsive kiss of congratulations. As their lips met, a sizzle raced to Zack's nerve endings. Tori sat back up in the saddle with a stunned look on her face, and their eyes met and held a moment. He was shocked at his electric reaction to a mere friendly kiss of congratulations.
Tori, who had a slightly bemused look on her face, and the other contestants returned to the arena to pick up their ribbons, and all joined in a triumphant canter around the ring, exiting to the moving strains of the Peters/Raval music.
As they walked back toward the barns, Tori beamed. “Peters and Raval will probably be at the World Cup. Finishing behind them is great. How about some brunch after we put Rocky and Rosebud up? I've been at this since four thirty this morning."
Back at the barn, Tori stepped into the trailer to take off her formal jacket and top hat. She emerged pulling on a black sweatshirt with white lettering which boldly stated "It's a Dressage Thing—You Wouldn't Understand" over her white shirt and riding breeches. Zack smiled to himself and thought, There's a lot here I don't understand. Tori and Zack quickly unsaddled Rocky, and Zack sponged him down. After making sure he was completely cooled out, they led Rocky and Rosebud to their reserved stall where the two occupants sniffed the fresh wood shavings, rolled luxuriously, and generally made themselves at home.

The first kiss between Glyn and Levi, my characters from Bite Me Tender. This kiss occurs in the prequel, out some time this spring. The full scene is considerably funnier. :)
Glyn downed the rest of his drink and slid the glass across the bar to—Darcy. That was it. “Why don’t I go deal with that for you?” he offered, nodding his head in the direction of the raging werewolf, who had just tossed one bouncer onto the table and had gone to work on the second one.
Darcy threw him a frightened look. “Shit, Glyn, he’ll kill you! Let the bouncers and the police handle it.” He winced at the crash of the second bouncer hitting the back of one of the booths.
“Nonsense. Just watch me.” Glyn hopped off the barstool and walked across the bar. He scooped a salt shaker off a table as he passed and, when he got close enough, he lobbed it gently at the idiot’s head, just to get its attention.
The werewolf shook it’s head and glared at him. Glyn smiled and walked right up to it. “If you’re looking for my attention, there are better ways.” He put a hand over the beast’s center of gravity and pushed, knocking it back into the one chair in the immediate vicinity that was still upright and in one piece. Before it could react, he straddled its legs and pulled it into a deep, exploratory kiss.
After its first start of surprise, it kissed him back, wrapping its arms around his hips and pulling him close to what felt like an impressive erection. Glyn broke the kiss abruptly and slid off its lap, only to cup his hand between the wolf’s legs and squeeze. “Nice. You’ll do.” He grabbed the creature by the front pocket of its jeans and tugged it to its feet. “Come on, Fido. I think we’re done here.”

… and the truth laid out before her made her suddenly very sad.
Attuned to her as he was, Ash set his bundle down and hurried to her side. “Tell me why you’re sad, my love.”
She gave her head a small shake. “I can’t imagine how alone you’ve been.”
He drew her to him. Here in this isolated place, his life had come full circle. He wouldn’t be alone again. They’d have each other and if Sky Father blessed them a second time, they’d have children to love. He felt a pang at the thought of his immortal life, but he’d love all of their descendants from the time they were born to the day they died. Pushing the bittersweet thought away, he kissed Livie’s cheek and tasted the salt of her tears. He murmured, “Shh ... That time is over, my love. You’re with me now.”
Yes I am. Seeking to build a new memory, she twined her arms around him and kissed him. Intimate caresses followed kisses and soon both were absorbed in their newfound love.
His hand slid inside her jeans but she stayed it. Drawing back, he searched her face.
She kissed him sweetly. “I want this as much as you do but I know we need to get on the road. I’ll take a rain check, though.”
His hand delving deeper, he said, “We may not have rain for days, my heart.”
Suppressing a giggle she rolled from his touch. Lest he feel self-conscious about not grasping the nuance of his new language, she played along as though her slang meant exactly what the words described. “I hadn’t thought of that. You can make love to me rain or shine, but right now we have somewhere to go.”

First kiss from LOVE ONLY KNOWS, released 12/6/13 from Amazon for Kindle.
Jon moved very slowly, so she felt his lips before they quite touched. Becca closed her eyes with a little silent sigh as his mouth took hers. Yet he didn’t invade; his gentle kiss coaxed and invited. It comforted and tempted, all in one feather-light touch. When his mouth moved on hers, even that was soft. He was strength, uncertainty, yearning, and a strange and vulnerable tenderness.
Becca hadn’t dated many men, but she went out fairly frequently. More often in college and now after. At twenty-four she didn’t have to suffer teenaged boys anymore. But never had she been with anyone like Jon. Never had a man kissed her like this. Never had she felt such total respect, as if the guy were completely in tune with her feelings. Never had a first kiss made her so much more than she was.
That knowledge sang in her blood. She took a half-step closer, no more than an inch probably, and he responded as if she’d flung herself headlong into his embrace. He released her hands but only to slide his arms around her. He moved his hands up her back and cradled her to him. Still not tightly, still withholding any sort of compulsion. She felt his tall, wiry strength against her own delicacy and reveled in it, but if he sensed her response, he did not try to overpower.
She didn’t mean her arms to encircle his neck, giving embrace for embrace. But that was how she found them. Their mouths clung repeatedly. Jon angled his face slightly, and she opened to him as easily as breathing. His tongue knew how to tease also, knew how to lightly skim across her upper lip before enticing her lower lip into a clinging, sensual kiss. Becca moaned and pressed closer, wanting to savor this little stolen treasure before leaving him forever.
And he knew when to pull back. Their mouths broke contact and she put a trembling finger to her lips. Neither spoke, brown eyes staring into greenish, feeling the earth begin to stabilize beneath their feet.
From Shot Through The Heart:
The look of relief in his eyes turned to something else, something hungry. He cupped the back of her neck gently and bent his head to hers. She closed her eyes as his lips slid over hers in a gentle caress that sent tingles crashing through her body. Laramie gripped his shirt and held on. Her knees went so weak she didn’t think she could stand another minute.
Derrick broke contact and smoothed her cheeks with a work-roughened hand. “Hey, I didn’t mean—”
She sniffed. “It’s just with everything that’s happened . . .”
“I was out of line.”
Taking one of his large hands in hers, she shook her head. “No, you weren’t. If it weren’t for you I’d be dead ten times over. I owe you my life.”
“You don’t owe me anything,” he said gruffly. He squeezed her hand. “Stay here and rest. I have to go back and get the animals, but I won’t be long.”
She resisted the urge to hang onto his hand and not let go. Instead, she nodded. “Be careful.”
“Stay safe.”

First Kiss...
Excerpt from No Strings Attached
Laura could feel her heartbeat behind her temples. What should she say? She tried to remember exactly what she had said already, and what he could have learned from her phone conversation. "You know how it is. At the last minute he didn't want to spend the money." Fox stiffened like a hunting dog on point, so she changed the subject. "Enough about my work troubles. I've never been to Vegas and I intend to have a blast."
His lips split into a broad grin. He clinked his glass against hers. "To having a blast."
"So if you're a consultant, I guess you travel a lot. What's your home base?"
"Atlanta. And you're from Miami?"
Laura nodded, pleased he had noticed her throwaway comment at the blackjack table.
"So do you have a husband waiting for you at home?"
"Nope—I’m a free agent." Laura giggled, the wine making her punchy. Then her stomach sank. "You're not married are you?" Would he even tell her if he were?
"If I were married I wouldn't be thinking about kissing a woman who wasn't my wife, no matter how beautiful she was." He leaned closer and the moment hung in the air, his lips almost touching hers.
"And were you thinking of kissing me?" Just millimeters separated them.
"No, not at all," he said, just before his lips met hers with a gentle pressure. Her hands slid under his jacket, and she felt hard muscle as she ran her fingers along his back.

First kiss from Viking Fire - 99cents Kindle Daily Deal for a limited time.
“The bedchambers are upstairs.”
“Lead the way, then, my lady.” He grinned. His smile did not falter her resolve to be rid of him; instead, she stomped each foot on the stone steps.
“Our room.” She waved her hand as she stood at the threshold.
He moved passed her and into the room. “Tis the first you admit we marry.”
“No. I said no such—”
He pulled her in his embrace and she went rigid. She opened her mouth to scream, but as she drew a breath, his lips crushed hers. Tingles of warmth crept from inside her to the tips of her toes. Her mind raced, demanding she be free, while her traitorous body melted in his arms. His kiss became gentle and sparked a craving inside her for more. His mouth opened, offering her to taste secrets. She slackened against him as his tongue played across her lips, stroking, and numbing her thoughts. He did not force his way further, but ended the kiss with her lips yearning for his. Then he stepped back.
“Your lips and eyes speak of your love.” He beamed at her frown. “Now I am sure of your passion for me.”
“No.” That was enough! He had overstepped his bounds with his prideful arrogant assumptions. “You are mistaken; I wish to never marry you.” She would not fall in love with him. No matter his handsome face. She must not allow herself to acknowledge that she liked it when he kissed her. She would never be free if he became the laird over her.
“Aye, your kiss spoke more than you know.” He chuckled and held her hand kissing her palm. “In time the rest of you will agree as well.”

The first kiss from Claiming Moon
By B.J McCall
Grace and Jackson: some lovers are meant to be.
Grace was leaning against the kitchen counter, looking at him. Jackson let his gaze slide over her, pausing on all the good parts, the thrust of her breasts, the smallness of her waist and those long, beautiful legs.
She smiled. “Tell me your flight is delayed.”
He walked toward her, drawn like a moth to a flame. “For at least a couple of hours,” Jackson said, wondering if the look on his face reflected the desire burning inside him. “They’ll call me.”
She pushed off the counter and hooked a hand around his neck. “You’ll stay until they do?”
Jackson wanted it to happen, but he didn’t plan it this way. Something inside him burst free. A bolt of raw need slammed into him, need he could no longer suppress or hold in check. His arms were around her, his body pressed against hers and his lips fastened to hers.
Her mouth was soft and warm and she was kissing him back.

Bewitching You's first official kiss:
“Are you afraid of me, Sofia?” Had he been that awful to her?
“Of course not.” She wrinkled her nose. “Why would I be afraid of you?”
Her tone wasn’t convincing. Carefully, Gray cupped her cheek. Her skin was soft, speckled lightly with freckles. Beautiful in a way he hadn’t noticed before.
A wary sigh heaved up her chest. Then she leaned into his hand and pulled in her bottom lip only to release it, wet and inviting.
Just one kiss.
Gray brushed his thumb over her lip, desperately wanting to erase every bad notion she had of him. What was it that made him want to be more to her than a cold-hearted jerk?
So much more.
Another gust of wind blew in, and she closed her eyes. Before she could open them again, he tilted her head up and molded his mouth to hers.
She gasped slightly, but didn’t pull away. Her lips were supple and sweet to the taste. Like in his dreams, but better.
This was real.
He wasn’t going to wake up and find her gone. To make sure, he grasped her waist and held her close. Faint whimpers muffled against his lips. He almost drew back, but her fingertips running up his arms gave him permission to continue.
Eager for more, he slid his tongue into her mouth. Her hips arched against his growing erection. Her hands glided over his shoulders and clasped onto his neck, nudging him down. Did she want him to take her? Now? Here?
He was a free to do whatever he wanted with whomever he wanted. For some reason, he only wanted to be here in this moment with this woman. From the way she was luring him toward the mattress, she desired more than just one kiss.

Blaire and Arran’s first kiss, taken from Love Beyond Time (Book 1 of Morna’s Legacy Series) by Bethany Claire:
Arran stared down at her as she continued screaming. She was even more beautiful when she was angry, with her face flushing pink and her eyes a vibrant blue. No wonder his brother had pushed himself against her when she’d screamed at him. He couldn’t think of doing anything else, and with his head pounding and his thoughts still mushy, he couldn’t resist the temptation to silence her by crushing his mouth to hers.
* * *
She knew she was making a fool of herself, she didn’t even know what she was screaming anymore. It wasn’t until Arran’s lips moved against hers that she was shocked into silence.
Her body reacted to his kiss in ways she didn’t even know were possible. All of her anger melted away, along with every other sensible thought in her head. She knew she should stop him, but when his hands dropped from the door to cup either side of her face, she found herself leaning into him, desperate to get closer.
When he pushed her into the door with his body, she realized that despite the urgency of his kiss, he was taking special care not to hurt her back again. As his tongue slid deeper into her mouth, the feeling of his velvety lips undid her completely. Surrendering, she wove her fingers into his hair, clinging to his body and gently scratching his scalp. He groaned into her mouth as she tugged at his hair, grinding his hips toward her.

'Sandro finished his glass quickly. “Ne ho avuto bisogno. I needed that,” he said, looking at Sigrid carefully. She realized she had been staring at the bulge in his pants and felt herself redden.
“I know what you mean. It’s been quite a night,” she stammered, emptying her glass and putting it down. “I needed that, too. Thank you.”
“Prego.” He took a step toward her. “Is there anything else you need?” His voice was low, suggestive, with a hint of playfulness.
You have no idea, buddy, she was thinking, but she could only stammer. “Well, I…I…”
Before she could answer, his mouth was on hers and before she could protest—not that she wanted to—his tongue was inside her mouth, his erection was rubbing up against her, and his hands were pulling the elastic out of her hair. Sigrid could no longer resist what she felt, what she wanted, and what he knew she wanted. She bumped her hips into him, trying to feel his hardness even more as he lifted her onto a bar stool and spread her legs apart pulling them around him. His hands were now exploring her small ribcage and slim waist, as he moved his mouth from hers and began kissing her neck.'
Tristan and Colby's first kiss, from Red Moon Rising which is now available for pre-order at Siren: http://www.bookstrand.com/red-moon-rising
Colby’s gaze jerked to his and his mouth opened, shock all over his face. And then he looked away, his cheeks flushing darkly.
“Hey,” Tristan said, and he cupped his hand to Colby’s cheek, gently encouraging him to face him once more. “I mean it.” But he was no longer sure what exactly it was he meant, because those slightly open lips held his whole attention, seeming to pull him in. He suddenly realized he was inches away from Colby, sharing his breath. Colby was still and taut beneath his hand, and he wasn’t pulling away.
“Do you mind?” he asked softly.
Colby answered by swaying in closer.
His lips met Colby’s, which were warm and dry and tasted of coffee and blueberries. Their kiss was soft and gentle and perfect. And then Colby’s lips parted, and Tristan licked inside. His mouth was hot and slick and more wonderful than anything Tristan had ever known. Their tongues tangled together, and Tristan made a sound deep in his throat and needed to get closer. He needed to touch Colby, and he moved until he was straddling Colby’s lap, his knees either side of his hips as he explored every last inch of Colby’s warm and willing mouth.
from SON OF A MERMAID, YA from Crescent Moon Press
Her body shivered under his touch, and he remembered why they’d come upstairs in the first place. “Are you still cold?” he asked as he put his arm around her and hugged her against him. She felt warm against him, her body radiating heat like a bonfire. Her hair smelled of salt air and sunshine.
“I’m not cold,” she whispered as she shivered again. “Just scared.”
He cupped her cheek with his hand and tipped her face upward, looking down into her wide eyes. “Don’t be,” he whispered back, and kissed her lightly. Her lips were soft and tasted of salt and sweetness, like the saltwater taffy they sold in the center of town. He wound his fingers through her golden locks, her hair silky and fine to his touch like spun sunshine, as he locked his lips more firmly to hers. His heart hammered within his chest, the blood pounding in his ears drowning out the world around them, he felt as though he were tumbling through space…until a sharp bark brought him back to the present and he opened his eyes.
Lucky was standing next to the bed, prodding Kae with his black muzzle.
Kae drew away suddenly, her cheeks flaming red once again.
“Oh,” she said, jumping to her feet. “Oh, I’m so sorry!”
“Sorry?” Shea stood slowly, his brow knotting with confusion. “What is there to be sorry about?”
“I… I… Maybe we’d better get going. My father will know what to do to help your mother.” She turned abruptly and walked into the hallway. He felt like all the heat had left the room with her, his heart still beat with a rapid, steady sharpness. Sorry? Why would she say that?
Lucky still stood next to Shea. He looked down at the dog and frowned. “Way to go, dog,” he muttered. “Rule number one? Never interrupt a first kiss.”

Grey and Sydney (Syd) from Stealing Justice, book 1 of The Justice Series.
http://www.amazon.com/Stealing-Justice-The-Team-ebook/dp/B00HSTV5RS/ref=dp_kinw_strp_1
He liked this Sydney as much as the no-holds-barred version. “I can compromise. Not much. But for you, I’ll try. As long as you agree not to put yourself in unnecessary jeopardy and give me a heart attack.”
“Agreed.” Then she stepped up, undid two buttons, grabbed him by the shirt and kissed him.
Like lightning in a spring storm, the kiss was too soon, too fast and way too much.
But her lips were soft, her show of bravado so strong, it did him in. Her breasts pressed against his chest, and Jesus help him, he wanted to unbutton the rest of her shirt, touch her bare skin.
Where he was careful and meticulous, Sydney was impetuous and cavalier.
Monroe, his former partner, was the same way. That’s why they’d made a good team.
Until they hadn’t.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. Grey drew back, although doing so cost him dearly, but they couldn’t do this. Not here, not...
Oh, hell. Why not? He wasn’t a federal agent anymore. Sydney was a grown woman who knew her mind.
Definitely.
Without a doubt.
Right?
But the voice in his head would never leave him alone. He was a screw-up. Mixing sex with this mission was just asking for another round of see Grey ruin his career. Not to mention, Sydney deserved someone better. Not a man who’d gotten his ass fired and was working a black ops mission in order to climb out of FBI purgatory. Sydney was special.
Taking a deep breath, he set her back away from him. “This is a bad, bad idea, partner. You better think this over before you commit to something you’ll regret tomorrow.”
From Out of Focus ~ An Adams Grove Novel
Scott gave Kasey a warning look. “You want help or not?”
“Uncle.” She blinked her big brown eyes, trying to look as innocent as possible.
He helped her out of the water and took her right into his arms. Water splashed against him, getting him almost as wet as she was. “You were going to pull me into the water, weren’t you?”
She giggled but shook her head, furrowing her brow as if the idea had never entered her mind.
He hitched her up and cradled her in his arms, his nose to hers. “Really now. I think you better confess.”
“Never.”
He leaned in and caught her lip. Not once but twice, and then his mouth opened, warm and gentle against hers. Her lashes batted against his cheek, then she kissed him back, relaxing into his arms. He set her on her feet, but their kiss didn’t abate. They melted into one another. Tender kisses turned hungry, and the chill in the air was of no concern. Feeling safe, Kasey let herself become lost in his kisses. In his arms, there was hope. He kissed her again. Slowly and gently, without hurry.

A first kiss from Gingerbread Palace (Delectable Series) by EM Lynley
Sparks fly when a sexy chef meets a firefighter with a secret.
Kevin pushed Alex back a pace, intending to leave, but once his fingers grazed Alex’s warm, damp skin, his brain stopped communicating with his feet. Alex put a hand on Kevin’s belt buckle, and all hell broke loose in his shorts. He couldn’t stop the erection, and he felt the blood filling his cock until it almost hurt. It would be completely obvious in the fitted uniform trousers.
Alex looked in that direction and smiled. “At least part of you isn’t lying. The important part.”
Thank God no one else was around for this. Kevin grabbed Alex’s wrist off his belt, and instead of pulling it away, he pulled Alex in close and Kevin’s other arm went around his waist, almost of its own accord. With Alex’s body pressed against his, Kevin leaned in for a kiss. Alex opened his mouth and let Kevin in. He tasted like toothpaste and smelled woodsy from the station’s body wash. His lips were soft, yet firm, and his tongue danced around Kevin’s.
He could feel Alex’s cock hardening against his own, and he took the kiss deeper, devouring Alex’s mouth like he hadn’t kissed anyone in months. At least no one he wanted as much he craved Alex. He liked the way Alex curled his arms around Kevin’s neck. Kevin slid a hand down to squeeze Alex’s ass. Nice and round and firm. Alex’s cock responded to Kevin’s touch.
Then Kevin’s brain kicked in, and he let go of Alex and pulled away, wiping the back of his hand across his mouth. What the hell was he doing? Fooling around in the station was number one on his list of “don’t out yourself” activities to avoid, and here he was, letting this guy—Dumbass Bakery Guy—push all his hot buttons.

Running the Red Light (Texas Nights #2) by Kelsey Browning
Jamie wrapped a hand around her neck and cradled her head. He smiled that naughty smile again and then dipped his head to smooth his lips across hers. Back and forth in an easy, hypnotic rhythm.
Roxanne’s lust engaged.
She sucked at his bottom lip, suddenly frantic to get inside his mouth. He hissed in a breath and she used her teeth. The whole thing was fast. Hot. In no way tame.
And it only got better.
He nipped her in return and slipped his tongue inside her mouth, curling around hers with the right combination of force and persuasion. She was wearing heels, and her mouth and body fit against his perfectly. Every pleasure zone on her body brushed against her favorite places on a man—mouth, chest, and… Oh God, he wrapped a hand around her hip and pulled her closer and wedged his hips against hers as far as her damn skirt would allow.
Not enough. Not nearly enough.
She was tempted to rip the fabric up around her waist so he could hit the queen of all pleasure zones. No, no, no. Not a good idea. Jamie was her reluctant attorney and partner. Sex and business made for bad business.
As her shirt rubbed against his chest, the fabric abraded her nipples through the lace of her bra. The idea that this was a bad idea went poof.
She wrapped a hand around one of those tempting biceps—where did a lawyer get arms like that anyway?—to eliminate the breath of space between them.
The kiss raged on for two minutes, two hours, two days. She had no clue. The only thing she was certain of was her need to get this man prone and naked. Not necessarily in that order.

From my YA fantasy romance HEIR TO THE UNDERWORLD:
The stallion’s head swung toward her, one liquid eye leveled at her in apparent displeasure.
Curling her fingers in, she pulled her hands away, not wanting to lose a finger to an irritable horse.
Guy laughed under his breath. He clucked his tongue and scolded the stallion in a strange guttural language she didn’t understand. The horse nickered and pawed the ground.
The sight of Guy and his horse seriously weirded Freddy out. This moment seemed pulled out of time somehow, plopped into the middle of a sunny SoCal day where it didn’t belong. A restless itch started under Freddy’s skin as she gazed at Guy, questions bursting from her mouth even as they imploded in her mind. “Guy, who are you? I mean, really?”
He studied her, eyes narrowed, his hand absently stroking down the column of the horse’s neck. After a long moment with her and Guy poised together, her questions hanging, his answers seeming to teeter on the edge of his tongue, Guy hunched a shoulder and half-turned from her. “Do you know I am tempted to tell you the truth?” He let out a sigh.
What does that mean? Here was yet another person apparently lying to her, and her annoyance flared. She grabbed his shoulder and spun him around to face her. “Try me.”
He stared at her for a long moment, his eyes half-hooded by his eyelids, then suddenly Guy bent to capture her lips. The touch was brief, just a soft brush of his lips against hers, but heat spiked inside Freddy.
He gave a breathless laugh as he stepped away.

From KEEPING THE PEACE by Hannah Hooton
Pippa moved to the side to let him pass, unable to breathe. He stepped forward, the shaft of light from her bedroom lighting his face. She sucked in her breath as her mental colour wheel at last stopped spinning.
‘Brandeis blue,’ she breathed.
‘What?’ he frowned.
A feeling of relief, like she’d been wracking her brain for an answer for ages and had finally found it, overcame her awkwardness. She smiled and reached out her hand to his face.
‘Your eyes. They’re Brandeis blue.’
A muscle jumped in his jaw as he digested her words. Pippa longed to calm it. Her outstretched hand settled on his cheek as if she could smooth out the tension. His stubble tickled her palm sending sparks of energy rushing through her body. Now she knew the colour of his eyes, she wanted to paint him. To paint him, she wanted to discover, to familiarise herself with every contour of his body.
Jack stood stolid and tense, only his broad shoulders rising and falling as he breathed. His ragged breath made the skin on her wrist tingle as she trailed her fingers over the strong line of his jaw.
Her gaze flickered to the stern set to his mouth. She wanted to erase its grimness. Soft beneath her touch, his lips parted as she stroked her fingertips over them. She looked into his eyes again.
They were three shades darker.
He raised his hand to enfold hers against his cheek then entwining his fingers, he removed her hand from his face. The bold flame that coursed through her veins flickered in doubt.
‘Jack,’ she whispered.
His fingers tightened around hers and a low groan rose from the back of his throat. In one swift movement he bridged the gap between them and kissed Pippa hard.
