From Civil War romance, Confederate Rose.

What was he to do now? He was trapped in this cabin in the middle of nowhere with a lovely Irish Rebel. Meanwhile, he had a Federal dispatch in his pack he'd be unable to deliver but would certainly incriminate him if it fell into Rebel hands.

From Cowboy Bred, Cowboy Born Cowboy Up boxed set:

She took another disbelieving look at the unforgiving Mustang, swallowed a long swig of lukewarm water from the bottle she held between her knees and with a tired sigh, stepped out of the car, carrying the camera and the half-empty water bottle.
“When are you going to give up this heap for a shiny new Lexus?” she muttered as she took her first step.

Loving Leonardo ~by Rose Anderson
A scorching Victorian polyamory. Love knows no boundaries.

This might work out well after all.

Somewhat surprised to see an expression that was at once both delighted and relieved, I met Grannie’s eyes over my recently acquired fiancĂ©’s head and winked at her. I could almost see the visions of babies forming above the dear old woman’s very large hat.

From Midwinter Masquerade by Romy Gemmell

“I shouldn’t stay on the ground too long, Miss Montgomery, else you will freeze your lower regions.”

At sound of the amused drawl, Annabelle scrabbled to stand up without sliding further, dreading to think what a sight she must be. Oh, the embarrassment that he of all people should find her like this.

From Teach Me to Forget, Mona Karel

She felt her temper—that distant, barely known part of her she kept segregated from her daily life—pull at its chains, demanding some time out in the world. She repressed it automatically.
“You must be excessively hungry, Mr. Merritt,” she said graciously. Mademoiselle would have been so proud of her. “Perhaps you are not a morning person?”
He smiled, finally bringing his devastating sky blue morning gaze fully upon her face.
“I thought perhaps if I filled my mouth with biscuits, I might keep my foot out of it for a while.”

Nik Kandesky, the arms dealer, meets with some clients

Smoke hung so low in the nightclub it curled around the heads of the four men sitting at a table in a back corner.
The club, an after-hours place in the outskirts of Kiev, was packed with men—why Nik chose it for the meeting. He had a flash of memory from a club he’d gone to with Jazz during his only trip to California. SoCal was way too sun-drenched for him, but he appreciated that smoking was outlawed there.
Tonight, he had business with these men, these solid, menacing, dark and hairy men scraped from the bottom of the region’s gene pool.

DEADLY EXODUS: A ruling authority too powerful to challenge, but to those desperate for a new life and a chance at love, defiance is worth the risk.

Sunday Snippet:

“I think they caught our scent, they sounds are getting closer,” Nyla said.

“Just keep walking and don’t talk,” Ethan replied as he listened to the howling. His mind wandered back to the highway and he felt true fear for the first time in his life.

Her Midnight Stardust Cowboys

A ShapeShifter Seductions Novel

From Chapter Two:

Dontoya rumbled a drawn out chuckle, while keeping an iron grip on the steering wheel. Zance envied his longtime partner's laugh. Women crowded around him, nearly panting with lust, whenever they were out cruisin' the town.

A SKELETON AT HER DOOR
http://amzn.com/B005MZ9X74

From a conversation between the hero and his teenage daughter. (Don't you just love teens?)

She sat in his desk chair and swiveled it around. "Why is it that you don't practice abstinence, but you want us to? Isn't that a double standard?"

From book four of the Dream Series, DREAM FAMILY:

“Mom,” I say, forcing myself to speak calmly, evenly, “Dad was right. I – I’m not glad he told me. But I think I needed to hear it.” Dad’s staring hard at me, trying to tell if I’m lying or not. I’m not sure myself.

From mystery/romantic suspense novel Twenty-Five Years Ago Today:
Kris breathed in and out a couple of times. She wished he weren't so damn good- looking. His sexiness unhinged her, brought fire to her cheeks. Maybe he wouldn't notice, or would attribute it to nerves.
"You've convinced my grandmother that Diana's killer will finally get what he deserves," Eric said. "She talks about it all the time. I think you were irresponsible to stir up the past."
