This is from my upcoming collection of fun, short Christmas stories to be released in early November 2014, tentatively named Happy Holidays. All the stories in this collection are located in River City. This particular story is called Mole Sauce. Hope you enjoy the teasing about this delicious Mexican sauce. (I promise there are no moles in mole sauce.)

“First she skins the moles and puts them in a pan of water to cook, then she adds peppers, some peanuts, tomatoes, and bunch of spices, including cilantro. After its done cooking, she removes the bones, and adds lots of chocolate.”

“Emalee! Stop telling him that.”

From Civil War vampire romance novella, Sweet Redemption.

As they made their way over darkened farmland, Jon tried to make conversation, but the reverend seemed reticent. In the darkness, Jon’s uneasiness grew.

False Pretences

A Traditional Regency Novel

By Rosemary Morris

"Under no circumstances would Annabelle wed a man of Baron de Beauchamp’s years. For the last thirteen years, she had only left The Beeches, when she attended church with her teachers and the rest of the schoolgirls, or when she rode in the company of others. Before she married, she needed to spread her wings beyond the confines of her school, and she longed to know what the world beyond the high brick walls around The Beeches was like, to meet people outside those walls and see different places."

Slowly he stretched out an arm, his hand spread welcomingly wide.
Her breath stopped in her chest, her belly tightened. She didn't think he was just asking her to take a ride with him. In her short life, she'd never thought to feel this kind of desire for a man, hadn't known it even existed.
