From Dangerous Deceit by Romy Gemmell - Regency romance and intrigue.

“I trust you will be more careful where you walk in future, Miss Hetherington.”
Hoping she appeared more composed than she felt, Lydia replied as firmly as possible. “Thank you, my lord. It is my good fortune that you are so comfortable with a lady’s hair style and so solicitous of my well-being.”

False Pretences A Traditional Regency Novel
By
Rosemary Morris

When they were Annabelle and Fanny were children, they made up many stories about Annabelle’s unknown father and mother. They had imagined she was either a foreign princess or an orphan whose guardian stole her fortune. Or perhaps, they had speculated, she was kidnapped, and one day, her parents would receive a demand for ransom, which they would willingly pay to have their beloved daughter returned. But she and Fanny were no longer children and she must face the possibility of an unwelcome truth; maybe, as the vulgar saying went she was ‘born on the wrong side of the blanket.’
Annabelle sighed more deeply than before. Perhaps there would never be a happy outcome. Maybe, as the vulgar saying went, ‘she was born on the wrong side of the blanket.’

Rosemary’s books published by MuseItUp Publishing are available from the publisher, Amazon-kindle, ibooks, Nook and other reputable vendors.

LOVE TO THE RESCUE

ShapeShifter Seductions Presents:
A Flash Fiction Novel by Pat Cunningham, Savanna Kougar, Rebecca Gillan, Solara Gordon, Serena Shay

Chapter One:
Who Ya Gonna Call?

By Pat Cunningham

Just goes to show, you're not safe anywhere. One minute Ewan Carter had paused outside the bar to shake an annoying bit of gravel out of his boot, the next somebody yanked a canvas bag over his head, two somebodies grabbed his arms, and he was being hustled into the back of a van. Now, Ewan was a man who liked to see action on a Saturday night, but this was all a tad much.

A HEAT OF THE MOMENT THING by Maggie Le Page

In this snippet, Becky is spending Christmas alone--a first for her--and is in a reflective mood.

------

Not that I’d ever enjoyed our Christmas Day Eating-fests. Stuffing our faces as if we hadn’t eaten in a month. Eating like we had no off-switch, here’s to Santa, have another chocolate; eat-eat-eating until I felt like a big blubbery ball of misappropriated gastro-waste.

To set the scene for this snippit from Hatchlings Curse. Lord Branin Llewlyn has committed Anastasia to learning how to do a mid-air shift. Something most dragshi don't do because of the inherent danger in a miscalculation. Throughout the night, all the dangers and threats to Anastasia's life resurface in rest-shattering nightmares.

------------------------

Worry shattered the dream beneath a different one--the darkness of a dark-filled cave. An evil chortle floated over a figure chained on the wet sand below the high tide line.
