He should let her sleep.

She looked so relaxed, so content in sleep. Her hair had fallen across one cheek in disarray as she lay on her side, her hand tucked under her chin. A small sweet smile clung to her lips.
She looked all of twelve years old. Innocent and young.

But she hadn’t looked like a child when she’d come unglued in his hands, or again when he’d been inside of her. No, then she’d looked like a fully ravished and ravishing woman. One who had taken his breath away and stolen his heart.

Stallion of Ash and Flame

First three lines ~

Chapter One ~ Her Hired Hand

Southeast corner of Arizona, Spring 2009

Trail rapped his knuckles on the splintery wood of the ranch house’s front door and made a mental note to replace it. The instant Seneca moved to answer, he gathered her fragrance into his nostrils, then let the blazing rose and gingery spice of her womanly flesh course through him. He suppressed his urge to breathe in her scent more fully.

A Baron for Becky. Released two days ago, and still at 99c until later this afternoon New Zealand time. This is the start of the third to last chapter, just before the last plot twist.

If Becky had been asked to pick her favourite times, she would have been hard pressed to choose, but this would be on the list: lying in her husband’s arms after their passion was spent, not sleeping, not talking, just being.
