5.0 out of 5 stars"The English Daughter," by Lindsay Townsend is a beautifully written romantic suspense novel
By MissMed51 on April 13, 2014
Format: Kindle Edition
"The English Daughter," by Lindsay Townsend is a beautifully written romantic suspense novel showing the same mastery of the genre as Phyllis A. Whitney in her novel "Hunter's Green".

How do I explain the significance of this style of writing? Scenes so well crafted I can see the characters in my mind's eye. Flowing movement of the players in quiet desperation to escape an evil force that is not fully identified until the very end.

"The English Daughter," is about life and death with a tender romance that heals Val's self-image. The love scenes are tasteful and allow for imagination - they are not the focus of the tale. The mystery of Val's dreams and the unknown killer is the purpose of the telling.

First, I traveled to Corfu in Val's dream - vivid and dark, where she witnesses a crime she could not have seen. Then I arrive in the beautiful Corfu - a place I've never been but feel as though I've been there through the brilliant depictions designed by Lindsay.

Her Ladyship's Ring, Book 2 of the Oak Grove Mysteries

P. J. MacLayne does not disappoint with her second installment of the Oak Grove Mysteries. Her Ladyship’s Ring is as suspenseful a page-turner as The Marquesa’s Necklace was. And once again the clever and talented Harmony Duprie is caught in the middle of the action as she is forced to navigate a world of jewel thieves and thugs. Harmony is also forced to deal with her ex-boyfriend Jake as he is released from prison, which brings along another whole set of twists and turns to the complex story line. And then there is her new love, Eli, or is he really still in the picture? It all adds up to a very exciting tale of intrigue and romance so captivating that you will find yourself anxiously awaiting book three. I know I am.

Life Worth Living

4.0 out of 5 stars emotional yet great read
By Christina Wade - January 13, 2016
this was a surprisingly emotionally great read. i really liked most of the characters in the book and the writing was pretty good. i love that most of the men are nerdy scientists!

i loved jake and how shy he was...it took him 4 years to finally talk to the man he was crushing on and then it was initiated by quentin! their summer together was sweet at times but tainted by quentin being in the closet and jake not fully investing himself know that quentin was leaving at the end of summer. the times they were fully invested with their guards down they were perfect together. they both go through long painful roads to get to a good place, stable enough to be in a healthy relationship.

there were a couple of really great scenes - the museum and the dancing were my favorites! steve, cora and phil were great supporting characters.

my only complaint is that at times the writing seemed a bit rushed, like the story was on fast forward. not all the time but a few times it really stood out to me while other times it seemed really slow with a ton of description of the scene.

overall, a great read that i recommend!

From THE NIGHT MAN COMETH (TOP 10 finalists in horror for 2011 from Preditors & Editors Readers poll):

“…a changing genre novel of historical, horror, paranormal romance, urban fantasy and ending with a bit of science fiction. Never read anything like it unless you want to count HG Wells masterpiece The Time Machine. This is not a short vampire romance novel with a great "happy ever after" but a masterpiece of work. This is not a singular romance, this is a story of a vampire cut from the Dracula mold of Bram Stoker (garlic, crosses, holy relics, all hurt him) and his search through centuries for the woman he feels sure is out there if he can find her. He is at times heroic, other times tragic and many times, just the vampire he has become.
. . . I give this 5 Stars because I cannot think of anything to compare it to and the scope combined with the highs and lows of Damien's life is exceptional.”—Douglas Meeks, amazon reviewer

Excerpt from review for SERPENT'S TOOTH, published by Class Act Books:

5 Stars for Serpent's Tooth

“The novel slowly builds moods of romance and horror, beginning as a love story with a just a tiny drop of evil in the background. As the characters continue to develop though excellent dialog and effortlessly-sketched psychic interaction, the percentage of romance to horror starts uneasily… shifting … and finally we’re confronted by a flat-out horror novel, its unconventional story arc challenging our expectations of an easy, plot-driven vanquishing of raw evil.”—from review by Michael D. Smith, author of the Martian Marauders series, for amazon.

GOODREADS 5 STAR REVIEW
I love it!!!
I can't wait for the next one! Wyatt reminds me of my good friend Greg growing up and Amy is determined, strong and a great mom to Bobby. I want her to succeed so badly and couldn't stop reading to see what happens next. I need it in audio version so I can listen while I do all the work I put off, so that I could read more.

InD'tale 4 out of 5 stars review for LILIANA'S LETTER:
"This is a beautiful little story packed with action and intrigue! It is filled with the usual routs associated with regencies, but includes some very colorful characters as guests. Liliana is a strong heroine who can think for herself and her charge."

NEW BEGINNINGS

This is an adorably sweet quick read.

Sophie is barely a woman herself yet she carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. After her father abandons her at a young age and her mother passes away, she's left to raise her 8 year old sister Mia on her own.

When Sophie and Mia inherit a house in Hobart, they pack up all their belongings, which sadly fit in a few suitcases and move. After meeting with the gorgeous and sweet lawyer, Mark, Sophie and Mia set out to make this their new home.

But after everything Sophie's endured, she can't help but to be waiting for the other shoe to drop. What if it's a mistake? What if it isn't her house? What if, this last shot at building a life is taken away from them in an instant.

Iris does an incredible job of creating characters you can't help but to be on their side as you hold your breath wishing for a happy ending.
