In my MM long-ish short story A KILTED CHRISTMAS, the enigmatic scholar Burns and his lover, hardboiled cop Thomas, are separated by necessity.
~~
He was walking into the wind, head down and scarf flying, when Thomas called. He spotted a concrete bench under a leafless plane tree and sat, oblivious to the weather, absently watching college students come and go along the cobbled promenade.

The hesitant, somewhat breathless tones of his lover once again transported him to the overcast afternoon they’d met alongside a highway out of Arbroath, Scotland. The date was February 3, 2014 … the eve of Parliament’s passing the same-sex marriage act…

Damn. I cannot hear the lad’s voice without remembering that day. Without needing to fuck him senseless.

A Vacancy at the Inn
Riverton Road Romantic Series Christmas Novelly

Bethany kept her movements small in order to be silent as possible. She leaned toward the window just as she remembered what she'd seen earlier through this same opening. The top of a ladder reaching above the edge of roof.

Whoever left a ladder leaning against the side of the house should be reminded to take it down, but she'd been so sleepy she forgot this thought almost instantly. Now she could think of nothing else, except the conclusion that followed. Somebody had climbed the ladder and was outside on the roof at this very moment.

Here are my two virgins in The Prisoners of Wyvern Castle, discussing sex on their wedding night.

“Do you know what happens between a man and a woman, Madeline?” Rupert asked.

“Not exactly.” Madeline sounded as if she were forcing herself to remain calm. “I breed dogs, but I do not suppose it is the same.”

“No, not exactly the same.” Rupert had been searching his memories of the pictures he’d found in the Clearwater library one long ago summer. He’d been thirteen at the time, and would have denied an interest, but studied them carefully and revisited them several times in the next weeks.

The man and woman faced one another in most of them, though other details of position changed. “Men and women mate with their fronts together,” he told Madeline, doing his best to sound confident.
